Company Overview

Extel is an Australian Company in two lines of business. The first is Electronic Contract Manufacturing, where the company manufactures electronic based products for other Businesses. The second is providing electronic service repair, technical support and maintenance.

Extel was incorporated in 1991 and commenced business operations in the same year. The first major milestone achievement was in early 1993, when Extel won their first contract to supply equipment to the then Telecom Australia (now Telstra Australia). Since that time, Extel has designed, and manufactured, several generations of narrowband (low speed), and broadband (high speed) telecommunications equipment. The company has exported these products to fifteen countries in five continents.

In 2006, Extel decided to change business direction and to invest and grow as a service business in Electronic Contract Manufacturing. This commitment has required substantial investment in people, systems, plant, and equipment. In 2008, the company made a decision to adopt the management principles of a Lean Enterprise, similar to that practiced by the Toyota Corporation.

Extel recognizes that to be the best in electronics manufacturing requires our commitment to innovation, technology, quality, productivity service, and learning.

Extel is a certified ISO – 9001:2000 company.
